Have a question?
-
Who do you work with?I primarily see children over 5 years old, teenagers, young adults, and adults. However, if family interventions are part of the treatment, children under 5 years old may be included in the sessions if their participation is essential to the therapeutic goals. If I believe another service would better address your main concerns, I may refer you to a different provider to ensure you receive the best possible care. If you are experiencing a crisis or are in immediate danger, please call 111.
-
How many sessions will I need?Individual sessions last 50 minutes, while couple or family sessions are 80 minutes. During your treatment planning, we will discuss the recommended frequency and duration of your sessions.

What to Expect in Our First SessionWe'll discuss your current challenges, therapy goals, and any barriers to change. Future sessions may be weekly or less frequent, based on your needs. Tasks between sessions will help you apply changes. My aim is to ensure you feel heard, with each session being purposeful. Therapy requires effort but can lead to lasting change, and I am here to support you throughout. Working with Children and Teens I tailor my approach based on the child's age and referral situation. For younger children, I often meet with parents first. With teens, I may meet with them alone or with parents. The initial session guides future steps, which may include parent, family, or individual sessions. Working with Couples Couples therapy helps resolve conflicts and improve relationships. Most sessions involve both partners, though individual sessions may be needed. If necessary, I will refer for additional support.

How can I get the most out of therapy?Attend appointments regularly as recommended, and follow your doctor’s instructions for taking any prescribed medication. Be sure to complete the home activities that you and your clinician agree upon. Stay realistic and patient with your progress—recovery takes time, so avoid placing extra pressure on yourself to heal immediately. If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please inform us as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, or a late cancellation fee may be charged.
-
Must I be unwell to seek counselling? It’s a common belief that you have to be in serious distress to pursue counselling, but this isn’t the case. Just as you might work with a personal trainer, join a yoga session, or take a meditation class to improve or sustain your physical well-being, counselling and therapy can be valuable tools for nurturing your mental and emotional health. Some individuals come to therapy because they are facing significant challenges, while others may simply be exploring self-improvement or personal insight.
-
Do I need to schedule an appointment, or can I just walk in?I operate on an appointment-only basis. Since I have varying clinical hours and often have prior appointments, it's necessary to book an appointment to ensure I am available. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate walk-ins without a prearranged appointment.
-
Will my information remain confidential?I guarantee confidentiality for all clients, except when safety or legal concerns arise regarding the client or others. In such cases, my Duty of Care requires me to address the issue with the client and contact appropriate support services if needed.
